Ayurveda
It is pronounced AYE-YOUR-VAY-DA. It comes from the combination of ayur, meaning life, and veda, meaning knowledge. Literally, we are studying the knowledge of life—how to live life in the best possible way for the best possible outcomes. Ayurveda is considered to be humanity’s most ancient healing science and is a mix of oral and written instruction, philosophy, mythology, spirituality, and scientific knowledge. Yoga, which you may practice in the park, temple, or hot yoga room, is rooted in the science of Ayurveda. The beauty of Ayurveda is that it was as relevant to a woman of ancient India as to the modern lady.
Ayurveda is about cultivating the ability to awaken our innate power and lead a healthy, balanced life that doesn’t sacrifice our natural sensual pleasures.

Hi Friend!
I’m so glad you are here. I want you to know how much Ayurveda has touched my life. From giving me morning and evening rituals that center me in my power and ground me to teaching me about my own ancestry and the powerful + mystical that was already inherent in my family of origin. I can tell you about my first hands-on Ayurveda practice, which nurtured and grounded me in self-confidence and built my self-esteem. Who would have thought a sweet little self-oil massage practice called Abhyanga would profoundly change my perspective? The word Abhyanga can be defined in two parts: abhi means towards or in the direction of, and anga means limb or body part. Another way of saying it is, “I am pouring my attention and affection back toward me.”. And what the ancients knew and we feel is that it heals and is therapeutic mentally, emotionally, and physically. Simply from applying warm herbal oils from head to toe.
I want to tell you about these teachings and so much more for your health and joy and your clients, friends, and students. I’ve studied these practices for over 20 years, and I know my community needs these exact teachings right now. Asana practice that is energetically developed to increase calm and build steadiness so as to access higher potential of mental clarity, intuition, and awareness. We will close the practice with meditation: Still Lake of the Mind. Rooted in the Tantric hatha text Gheranda Samhita.

Developed to Awaken your Transformational Force, this curated practice will renew your connection to vitality, passion, and power. Think of the sun, shining both internally and externally, as the foundation for building toward the highest goals of yoga. We will support our practice with the Gayatri Mantra.

AYURVEDIC PSYCHOLOGY AND TANTRIC SUBTLE ANATOMY
9/28 SATURDAY 11-2
Discover what Yoga and Ayurveda have to say about the Gunas, Dosha, and Subtle Doshas have over your thoughts, sexuality, and connections to self, others, and the divine. How we see the world and our role in it. Clearing our vision will allow us to deeply understand that we do not need to be empowered but instead recognize that we innately are manifestations of Shakti (power) and take action from there.

Lesson 5
TEJAS // THE SUBTLE FORCE OF INNER RADIANCE
9/28 ALL DAY SATURDAY
We will work with yogic techniques that hold the capacity to boost our inner fire – bringing about a radiance in our personality and a quality of “realness” that melts all hearts. As we build this fire-force (tejas), the higher potential of perception is activated, along with the power to attract and see the conditions most suitable to success and growth.

Lesson 6
PRACTICAL AYURVEDA
9/28 SATURDAY 2:30 - 6
We will discuss how to understand your unique mind/body type, nurture it, and build skills to share with others.
Learn the basics of the Ayurvedic constitution theory of mind and body types. Includes lecture and interactive workshop. You will receive a booklet that will help you coach yourself and others with this ancient + modern wisdom. -
Lesson 7
TANTRIC FIRE PRACTICE
9/29 SUNDAY 8-10a
This session helps us embody the yogic techniques that build and balance the deep, intelligent force that governs mind, body, and psyche expansion. Prana, as activated through the appropriate asanas and pranayamas, frees us from the pain of limitation and restriction and brings lightness to the body and boundless awareness. Prana has the capacity to dissolve and resolve heartbreak and stuck-ness. It includes lecture, asana, and meditation.

PRANA // THE INTELLIGENT ORGANIZING PRINCIPLE // LIFE FORCE

Discussion on Prana and the specific practices to unlock us from the suffering of burdens and limitations. We will explore the subtle forces that lead to the final stages and highest goals of yoga practice. Think of this prana as the boundless power that shines both internally and externally, as the foundation for building toward the highest goals of yoga.

ANCESTRAL HEALING // SUBTLE DOSHAS

In addition to an overview of the Ayurvedic understanding of doshic balance, rest, relaxation, and health, we will end our weekend with one of the most sacred and powerful practices in Ayurveda called Tarpana or Pitri Paksha, "Honor your Ancestors to Heal Your Lineage Patterns."
